For the Fallen

This is for the Fallen
The ones that cannot get back on their feet
But do anyway
The ones that are pained and sore
Day after day
The ones that conquer chaos and subdue anarchy
With only little fear to divert them

This is for the Fallen
The ones that accept danger
And welcome uncertainty
With only little regret to follow
The ones that run into danger
And don’t look back
The ones that serve our country
Day in and day out

This is for the Fallen
The ones that induce torture
Mentally
And physically
Even after they come home
They aren’t the same
Having seen things
That the average person will never see
Having done things
That the average person shouldn’t have to do
Having to make decisions
That were influenced by life and death
Having gone through the gates of hell
And come back

This is for the Fallen
The ones that risk their lives
To save ours
The ones that fight alongside
And for
Their brothers and sisters
They fight to the very end

  1. This poem has a great meaning behind it as it is commemorating those who have risked their lives to protect and defend our country. I really like the vocab you used and the description you have.

  2. Thank you for writing a poem that helps publicize what the soldiers all over the world are doing. We often forget all that they have to do, and think that we could do it better. Your poem helps show the world that it isn't easy.
