There are four seasons in a year.
They’re called spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
But how did they did they come to be?
Why are they there?
They keep the world in balance, defining life, warmth, color, and rest.
Spring is the season of life.
After a long, cold moment of rest, the flowers start to bloom again,
Reawakening after a nice, peaceful slumber.
New life starts to grow as the freezing air calms its breeze,
Filling the world with energy and spirit.
Summer, the season of warmth.
It is the time for the sun to shine its brightest on the world.
Sometimes, the heat becomes too much, that it’s unbearable,
Other times, it’s just right, and makes you want to just lay back and enjoy the sunshine.
Autumn is the season of colors.
Some of the plants and trees slowly lose their color,
Replacing it with one that resembles the burning fire.
While others take a calming yellow,
One that can hold the sun’s bright look from the previous season of warmth.
Winter is the season of rest.
The leaves have now fallen from the tree,
Leaving them bare and dead.
A cold chill engulfes the country,
The forest critters returning to their homes to sleep,
Resting until the season of life comes again.
These are the four seasons of the year.
They keep the world in balance,
For without each and every one of them,
There would be no life, no warmth, no color, and no rest.
I like all the descriptive language,it really puts that summer or winter feeling and helps me understand your poem.
ReplyDeleteI love all your descriptions of the seasons, and I like the idea of changing the color of the different words associated with each season to provide visual appeal.
ReplyDeleteThis is really detailed and interesting to read. I especially liked the line about plants and trees resembling fire.
