The Loudest Sound
Sound is a funny thing
Sound is what lets us know where there is wrong
But also lets us know where there is right
Sound is what helps us uncover the sheets from a bed made of cries, pleads and sorrow.
But just because there is sound, doesn’t mean that it is heard.
In fact sometimes people scream the most when they are silent.
One just has to hear it.
Like Simon and Garfunkel would call it “The Sound of Silence”
What a feeling it is to be heard
What a feeling it is to be ignored
to be pushed around by empty noises
to be shoved into your own mind and forced to be silent.
Although we may not like to admit it
We have all felt this way before
But it is the brave ones
The ones with patience and understanding that allow themselves to create something beautiful out of not being heard.
The ones who create beauty out of the loudest sound.
And they do so through poetry.
