Prompt C
Act 1, Scene 5 - Lord Capulet says to Tybalt, "You are a saucy boy." The line really explains Lord Capulet's character as well as Tybalt. Tybalt is always wary of the Montagues and really despises them, but Lord Capulet does not want to cause a scene. Lord Capulet is a little more wise and he cautions Tybalt from creating a scene, but once Tybalt begins pushing more and more for him to go after Romeo, Lord Capulet finally delivers the famous line. It shows that Lord Capulet does not shy away from insults and that Tybalt can become very uptight about things. The line is very humorous in the play. It sets the tone for both Lord Capulet and Tybalt, as Lord Capulet is set up as almost, in a sense, comic relief, while Tybalt is the uptight one who wants to fight the Montagues.
Lord Capulet may be cautious and patient, and wise like you said, but why does he not stay that way. I think the quote you chose was really funny, and it does directly show Lord Capulet's intentions and ways at that moment.
ReplyDeleteThe quote you chose really does show Tybalt's pugnacious attitude as he wants to fight the Montague's in any chance he gets.
