Quote Analysis

"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?"
I like this quote because when Juliet says this she is basically asking why Romeo is a Montague, and she is asking this because she knows that if she falls for Romeo, then their families would not approve because of their ongoing feud.
"But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun!"
I like this quote because Romeo is comparing Juliet to a sunset or sunrise, but he says it in a very poetic and romantic way.
"Good night, good night. Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight til it be morrow."
After realizing that Juliet also loves Romeo, she expresses her feeling by saying that it is sad that they have to part ways for the night, but it will be a happy time when they see each other again, which is the day of their wedding.
"A plague o' both your houses!"
The tension between the Capulet and the Montague gets out of hand when a fight breaks out in the streets of Verona. Mercutio challenges Tybalt to a duel, but then he is accidentally stabbed by Tybalt and dies.

  1. I agree with you last quote analysis. I think that the tension between the Capulet's and Montague's does indeed get out of hand but I also am a strong believer in the fact that being a part of different houses made each other more desirable hence making their love stronger.

  2. I agree with the 2nd quote analysis. Juliet is basically saying that it leaving is a bitter sweet situation.
But for the 3rd, I think that Mercutio did not die accidentally. Tybalt and Mercutio were having a duel, and it is not surprising that one of them died.
