Act 1 Scene 5: Who's Rosaline?

Prompt B

Romeo - What was the driving force that made you forget all about Rosaline and only have eyes for Juliet?
Juliet - Why are you so attracted to Romeo? Is it his looks, his confidence, his sweet words, or something else?
Tybalt - If not for your father, what would you have done to Romeo when you found he had crashed your party?
Lord Capulet - Why were you okay with the son of your bitterest rival attending your party?
Nurse - To what extent would you disobey Lady Capulet to appease Juliet?

  1. The driving force that made her leave Rosaline was probably what we would call "love at first sight." He must have thought her to be really beautiful.

Juliet was attracted to Romeo mostly due to him looking on her and maybe his looks? There really is no definite reason beside the way Romeo acts.

Tybalt probably would continue with his word and killed Romeo for intruding on the party. Especially Romeo because he is the Son of the Montigues.

Lord Capulet says that he will let this go and does in fact not worry as long as the party goes on. Romeo is also known to be a good person so he is fine.

Nurse would probably disobey Lady Capulet to the point where she would be kicked out because she does really care for Juliet.

  2. I also think that Juliet's attraction to Romeo is rather sudden but if I was to place a reason I would guess that Juliet found the encounter very thrilling and out of the ordinary compared to her normal routine for playing the submissive daughter to her parents.

  3. 1. I believe that Romeo only went to the party to see Rosaline, but while there, I think that when saw Juliet, he kind of acknowledged the fact that Rosaline doesn't love him back and went to seek new love.
    2. I can't really answer this question, I guess it's just the looks because she pretty much fell in love with him as soon as she saw him.
    3. He probably would've killed him, but would later face the death penalty set between the two kingdoms, I guess.
    4. He didn't want to face the death penalty.
    5. I think it's to the point where Lady Capulet is extremely dissatisfied.
