Act 2, Scene II: Juliet's view on her love
Prompt C:
Act 2 Scene II Juliet:
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet."
This line explains how Juliet doesn't love Romeo any less because he is a Montague, she questions why a name makes a difference to how people feel and act towards one another. She says that a name is just a name, it doesn't make them different based on that. To Juliet, Romeo would just be as perfect if he wasn't named Romeo.

I think you did a good job of explaining how Juliet doesn't care about Romeo's name or that he is a Montague, she just cares about him for him, not his name.

ReplyDeleteGood analyzation and this would also prove the fact that we would do anything for love. Even if it means putting our past and pride aside we would still do things for love. Romeo also exclaims that he would get rid of anything of his past to be with Juliet. So they can be in love and not have to worry about anything tied to them by their families.
