Prompt E:
Romeo is very infatuated with Rosaline despite her indifference towards him. He proclaims to Benvolio that," Ne'er saw her match since firs the world begun"(33). This line very clearly depicts hows Romeo full heartedly believe that she is the most beautiful women there ever was. While the reason he is so entranced by her seems quite shallow in today's world, in these time men really did was a beautiful young wife to bear them children. I think that Romeo is very quick to speak such strong praises to a women who holds no favor to him, but as we see later in the book Romeo often crafts such wondrous compliments. This maybe because it is just Shakespearian language to exaggerate certain quality traits of a person and I am simply not familiar enough with his writing.
This is so true about Romeo! I haven't thought about that. Maybe illustrate Romeo as a "stubborn young man" with love towards beautiful young girls or women.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree with this how these days saying someone is beautiful or thinking so wouldn´t get far but back then it got a lot further and Romeo´s use of Shakespearean language helped woo her
