Romeo and Juliet
(Act 1, Scene 1) Romeo and Benvolio
PROMPT A
What is happening in the play that reminds you of something that is happening in your life, on TV, in the news, etc. Summarize the issue in the play and in your life in a minimum of 5 sentences.
In this Act 1 and Scene 1 have showed similarity play into my life with my dear cousin who I always trust and tell everything. When Benvolio notices 'Romeo's sadness or sad hours' because of being rejected by his crush, has reminded me the time my dear cousin was having guy-problems and seemed bothered or solemn by it. Although, Romeo was rejected, my cousin was the one who rejected two guys in her school and felt guilty of hurting them since she knew she could have done it in a more approached way. She could not stop thinking of their hurt faces and the guilty that was eating inside of her. Romeo trusted to tell Benvolio his sadness of a woman/girl who had hurt him by not sharing the same affection/love. My dear cousin trusted me in telling me that two guys have asked her to be in a relationship with them. But she did not feel anything for those two boys.

Romeo- Who do you cry for so disparately?
Benvolio- Why did you take your sward out to Prince Tybalt?
Tybalt- Why did you fight Benvolio?
Montague- Why do you hate so much the Capulet family?
Capulet- Why do you have the Montague family as enemies?
PROMPT D
Find an image *MUST BE FREE TO USE OR SHARE – CHECK GOOGLE SETTING (photograph, painting, etc.) online that you think is a good symbolic representation of the scene as a whole. Insert the image and then discuss why you chose it and how it represents the scene. (1-3 sentences).
I chose this image because it represents the scene when Montague and Benvolio are talking about Romeo's sorrow morning. Also, when Romeo and Benvolio are taking about Romeo's rejection and sadness of the girl he loves not feeling the same way.
What other images were you thinking for prompt D? The image really represents the scene you describe and your paraphrasing is good. I liked the scene you described.
ReplyDeleteI think that Benvolio took his sword out against Tybalt because Tybalt is a Capulet and Tybalt insulted Benvolio, a Montague, and they were insulting each other and trying to prove that one was better than the other.
ReplyDeleteTybalt fought Benvolio because Benvolio was mocking Tybalt and they were trying to best each other. They were trying to show each other that they were better than the other.
