Romeo And Juliet Act 2 Scene 2 What defines us
One of my favorite quotes from the play "Romeo and Juliet" is when Juliet is talking to herself on the balcony about Romeo's name and how it doesn't affect their love, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"(Act 2 Scene 2). I love this quote because it shows how Juliet doesn't care about any boundaries for her love. Even if Romeo is in a rivaling clan, the Montagues, while she's in the Capulet clan, she still loves him. This shows just how far Juliet is willing to go for Romeo even if she's risking her livelihood and her family's appreciation. This quote is able to display Juliet's affection and succinctly describe her love with Romeo easily and encapsulates what she's going through that allows the reader or listener to have empathy with Juliet and Romeo.

I really like that quote too, but I feel like it shows that she does care about the boundaries, and wishes they did not exist so she could freely love Romeo. How do you think their relationship could have progressed had they not had rivaling families?
